Homework

Homework is set each week on a Friday and is to be completed by the following Friday. A homework blog will be posted on your child’s Purple Mash account, so they have an overview for the week and the weekly spellings.

Children are asked to:

• Read at home three times per week-children will receive a stamp on their bookmark!
• Learn weekly spellings which will be available on the blog. Children will be tested on a Friday.
• Complete weekly tasks on Purple Mash.

Other tasks and activities may include:

Our work- Spring Term:

In Maths we have been working hard to understand multiplication and division, children have also been practicing counting in 2’s, 5’s and 10’s so we are ready to learn our times tables. We will be learning how to interpret tables and charts using tallies and pictograms.

In English, we have been studying the pantomime ‘Dick Whittington’ and have been writing the story using paragraphs and expanded vocabulary to improve our sentence structure. We will also be writing a non-chronological report on China linked to our Geography topic.

In Science, children have been keen to find out about life cycles of different animals as well as their offspring. We will be researching how different animal groups produce and how they evolve through their life cycle.
