Welcome to Moonstone Class
Class Teacher: Mr Davis
Learning Assistant: Mrs Day
Midday Assistant: Miss Porter
What a wonderful return to school we have had in Moonstone class!
We have all settled in well and have enjoyed being back at school! At the bottom of this blog are this week’s spellings – please take time to learn these!
Here are the self-portraits we started on our first day back. We took our time when creating these portraits and are really developing our art and drawing skills!
In Maths we have been reading, writing and identifying the place value of numbers up to 1 million, and practising learning our times-tables.
In English we have been describing settings from Disney’s Tarzan!
In Science, we have been exploring the life cycle of flowers and have begun identifying and exploring the parts of a flower and the role they play in the reproduction.
In French, we practised basic greetings such as saying hello (bonjour), good evening (bonsoir) and good night (bonne nuit) and progressed to asking one another ‘what is your name’? in French.
During our PSHE lessons, we have looked at different themes including anxiety, empathy and what to do if we are feeling nervous, worried or upset – in Moonstone class, we use ‘Feeling pegs’ every morning so that if one of us has a problem, we are able to discuss this with an adult before we start our learning for the day.
