The School Day

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Government has issued guidelines stating that there should be staggered start and end times to the day to keep groups apart as they enter and leave school.

Please consider the following things when you drop off and collect your children:

  • Only one adult from each household to bring the children.
  • Adults to wear a face covering if they feel more comfortable with this.
  • Queue at the gate following the 2-metre markers on the fence.
  • Avoid standing around the zebra crossing.
  • Avoid stepping into the road.
  • Avoid gathering together when your child has entered the playground.
  • Move away from the school once your child has entered the playground.
  • Wait in the public park in between entry times if you have more than one child.

Each class are currently operating an individual timetable to incorporate staggered start and end time of the day as well as staggered break times. Lunch continues to be 12-12.45 for EYFS and KS1 and 12.50-1.35 for KS2. All classes will still have a broad and balanced coverage of the whole curriculum.

Please speak to your child’s class teacher, via Purple Mash, if you have any questions.

The hot school meals are provided by Caterhouse and are prepared on the premises. They are currently £2 per day which can be paid daily or weekly in advance. We have recently introduced an electronic payment and ordering service - log in details are available from the Main Office.

There is a morning break time between 10.30 a.m and 10.45 a.m. for which you can provide a drink and snack for your child. We do ask that no fizzy drinks or chocolate are sent for snack time. We provide a piece of fruit/vegetable for the children to have in KS1.

We encourage children to drink regularly throughout the day, so your child will need to bring in a named flask or bottle of water each day.

The school opens its doors at 8.45am for children to enter his/her classroom. From 8.45am through to 9.05am a senior teacher is available on the playground, or in the reception area, for parents to talk to.

We can admit up to 90 children in each year group and we therefore operate three classes in each year group.
