Our work- Autumn Term:
In Maths, we have been finding lots of fun ways to learn about addition and subtraction, place value of numbers up to 20, 2d and 3d shapes.
In English, we have been learning about traditional tales, such as ‘The Gingerbread Man’ and we have also looked at books by different authors, such as Roald Dahl. Where we concentrated on his story ‘The Enormous Crocodile’. We made story maps for ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ and even went on our own bear hunt!
In Science, in the first half-term we learned about our bodies. We learnt the names of our body parts and explored how we use our senses. Most of us hated tasting the marmalade!
In Art, we looked at colour mixing and creating self-portraits. We were talked about famous artists such as Rembrandt and talked about the mediums artists choose and why.
In Geography, we learnt about the area we live in. We learnt about the words near and far and which transport we need to use. We explored what happens to letters and how they are delivered. We all sent a letter in a ‘special’ post box that appeared in our playground!
