PE Day
Topaz Class PE lesson is on a Wednesday
Homework is set each week on Wednesday and is expected to be completed by the following Wednesday.
Children are asked to:
- Read at home at least 3 times a week
- Learn weekly spellings
- Complete a weekly Purple Mash tasks.
- Learn Times Tables using Multiplication Monster on Purple Mash

Autumn Term learning
We have really enjoyed working with the children and settling them into Year 4!
In English, children have had the pleasure of writing adventure stories about Hercules and an explanation text about the water cycle. We are continuing to focus on Year 4 spelling words (please see attached on the class page) and handwriting.
In Maths, children are gaining independence and becoming great mathematicians in different areas including place value, multiplication and division, perimeter and length. We love it when the children can achieve mastery and answer challenge questions. Children have been practicing their times tables weekly but they can also practice at home. This website is useful https://mathsframe.co.uk/ for multiplication practice on a mobile device or tablet.
In Science we have been classifying animals and creating keys. The children have been curious to learn about the Water Cycle too.
In other subjects we have been learning how to tell the time in French, how to use an atlas and globe in Geography and making detailed Greek masks in Design technology. In Computing, children have been using Purple Mash to find out how to stay safe online and completing their own fantastic Andy Warhol creations in Art. Well done Topaz class!
We have had an impressive start to the year and look forward to continuing this in the Spring term. We are also looking forward to our school trip to Chelmsford Museum.
